Burma Vision: Dr. Frank Green |
|||||
Dr. Frank Green has done more to promote vision in the Karen State of Burma than almost anybody. Hailing from Scottland, Dr. Green brought his family, his expertise as a superb eye surgeon, and his resources to the Karen State. He worked tirelessly in Dr. Cynthia's Mae Taoclinic providing medical, optical and surgical treatment for folks who came to the border town of MaeSot. Dr. Green would complete up to 1700 cataract cases per year during time off from his UK practice. Dr. Green., along with friend John Forrester, trained Karen medic, Dr. Nay Hser in cataract and other eye surgery. A survivor of previous blood dyscrasia, Dr. Green died of colon cancer October 9, 2018. Burma Vision has placed a plaque in honor of Dr. Frank Green in the Cross Border Clinic.
